2. B.Sc. in Aircraft Maintenance at Institute of Aviation Technology & Engineering (IATE), Constituent of Indus University.
Graduate program under IATE, Indus University, Gujarat - B.Sc. in Aircraft Maintenance from July 2012. The program will be designed so that a student will be able to get a degree along with AME License Courses as per choice. It is a golden opportunity to all Aviation professionals to attain higher qualification.
The courses in Aircraft Maintenance are open to both men and women. After completing the training program, candidates have to appear for Aircraft Maintenance Licensing examinations held by DGCA. The licenses are issued for a particular type of aircraft. Hence, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who hold license of servicing Boeing planes are authorized to inspect only Boeing aircraft and certify its fitness.
The total training period is spread over a period 3 years in six semesters.
The fee for three years course is Rs. 3,95,000/- and you have to submit Rs. 1,35,000/- at the time of admission which includes Rs. 10,000/- for registration, Rs. 25,000/- for admission, Rs. 50,000/- for 1 semester fees, Rs. 40,000/- for workshop & practical charges for 3 years and Rs. 10,000/- for caution deposit which will be refunded after completion of course.
Fees for AME along with B.Sc. is Rs. 5,15,000/- At the time of admission you have to submit Rs. 1,55,000/- and remaining fees you have to submit Rs. 70,000/- per semester.
Regarding Course Fee : Students will be intimated well in advance about any change / revision in existing fee structure. The decision of Management / Board of Directors regarding any dispute on Fee or related affair shall be final. All disputes will be settled within the jurisdiction of Ahmedabad.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is slightly different from Aeronautical. Aeronautical Engineers specialise for the field at the B.Tech level and are involved in designing and manufacturing of aircraft while Aircraft Maintenance Engineers maintain the aircraft and aircraft component and keep it in perfect flying condition.
